What is Peekadoodle’s Capital Campaign Funding?
The Capital campaign is a one-time (not annual) ask to raise funds that will be specific to reconciling the financing of the relocation and build out, as well as some financial impact of COVID-19.
Our custom built preschool includes many features that were specifically designed for a state of the art learning environment. Operable skylights to allow natural light and air circulation, sinks in every classroom, and amenities that adhere to all licensing regulations were costly. While these were all costly features, they were essential to our vision for a long term investment for our current and future families.
The construction also included a full 2019 seismic retrofit, making the structure nearly brand new and very safe.
Will there be any events that support the Capital Campaign?
At this time, due to the impact of COVID, there will be no live events. You are likely to hear from a Campaign Ambassador who may be calling you to provide pertinent information and to answer any questions you may have regarding donations, etc.
How is this different than other fundraising, such as Peekadazzle?
Peekadazzle is an annual fundraiser that specifically supports Student Enrichment and Teacher Professional Development. Each year, we have a fun night dedicated to supporting the school through a silent auction or online auction, custom art sales, and funding other needs. Every dollar raised through Peekadazzle goes directly to classroom and teacher needs!
Will our donation be tax-deductible?
Yes! You will receive a letter or email with details of your tax deduction once you donate via our donation link here. If you prefer to donate through a check, please make the check to: “Peekadoodle Community and Enrichment Fund” and mail it to the school at: 4228 Geary Blvd, San Francisco, CA 94118.
I recall a letter requesting support in the past. How is this different?
When we received the unexpected news that our lease was not being renewed in Ghirardelli Square, I sent out a letter to our alum and current families asking for support in the initial move. We are so thankful to those you generously contributed as it helped tremendously with those initial costs.
Then in early 2020, a handful of families supported a related need. While we were able to raise about $50K and intended to launch our capital campaign at that time, Spring of 2020 brought on the nationwide lockdown which delayed our goals. We then focused on a safe and successful reopening, and 20 months later we continue to thrive with our programming! It is now our hope to raise the final $250K that will reconcile our construction and moving costs.
